This center features
multiple and dual path DS3 and OC3 connectivity to our fully-meshed,
private ATM backbone with IP routing at the network edge. Our network
also includes multiple high-speed, redundant connections to major
regional, national and international Internet Exchange Points (MAEs,
NAPs). This architecture minimizes latency with QoS guarantees of 125
milliseconds round trip and provides the highest reliability so that
even in the event of a link failure, redundant network connections
deliver data to users without delay.
Our fully-meshed,
private ATM connects its SuperPOPs in 16 major metropolitan areas and
139 secondary and tertiary POPs in other cities. Our network
architecture is designed to route its clients' traffic over the most
efficient path available. The switched ATM architecture allows for
single hop connectivity from one city to another, which reduces latency
and failure points. We have 12 private peering relationships including:
MCI, Sprint, UUNET, AOL, PSINet, InterNIC, Exodus and Qwest and 197
public peering relationships. Utilizing this system, our clients can
deliver their information to sites around the world giving customers
local access to information in a timely and cost effective manner.
This location is fully
telco hardened. Telco features include: OC-48 and OC-12 SONET, national
ATM backbone, microwave, and high capacity dial up and dedicated access
(Frame Relay, PRI, DSL, T1, T3, DS3). Our center also features dual
entrance facilities on opposite sides of the building with completely
diverse conduit back to the node with the serving wire center, thereby
eliminating single points of failure.
Bandwidth Management at
our center includes: bandwidth options from 250 Kbps to >100 Mbps,
autosensing Cisco switches (10 to 100 Mbps), Xedia Access Point for
bandwidth management, Alteon AceDirector
for local load balancing, and RND Networks Web Server Direct-NP for global load balancing.
Key to any data center
is the proper environmental controls. Our center is equipped with dual
transformers, redundant air conditioning (HVAC), Uninterruptible Power
Supply (UPS) with backup diesel generator, multiple power distributions
units and breaker panels, FM200 fire suppression systems with dry-pipe
sprinkler backup, overhead cable feeds, tempered glass, antistatic tile
and seismic bracing.
The UPS can handle up
to 300 KVA which is more than adequate to accommodate full capacity of
our data center complex. There are two separate ATS (Automatic Transfer
Switches), one for the UPS and one for the lights and HVAC units. The
UPS has three separate battery strings for increased redundancy. At full
load, the center has 18
minutes of battery power, more than ample time given that the diesel
generator will start after two seconds of lost utility power. The diesel
generator holds 999 gallons of fuel and is housed in a separate
building.
With our facilities you
receive high levels of security including: a security desk that is
staffed 24x7, video surveillance, motion detectors, steel framed/steel
cored doors, escort requirements, restricted card key access, and 24x7
network and remote monitoring.
